What happened

On 22 October 2026 the Central Bank of Ireland issued a warning notice naming 'CreditFlex' as an unauthorised retail credit firm and unauthorised high-cost credit provider. The notice lists the website https://crediflex.ie/, the email address info@crediflex.ie and the phone number +353 089 948 8694, and states that CreditFlex is not authorised to provide credit services in Ireland. The Central Bank asks anyone with information about the firm to contact it on (01) 224 5800.

What the warning means

The Central Bank of Ireland publishes warning notices about firms that it believes are offering financial services in Ireland without authorisation. A firm named in a notice is not authorised by the Central Bank, which means customers have no protection if things go wrong: an unauthorised lender is outside the Central Bank's consumer protection rules, and complaints cannot go to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman.

Unauthorised credit offers are often used in advance-fee loan fraud. A website or social media advert promises quick loans with easy approval, even for people with poor credit histories. After an application, the 'lender' asks for an upfront payment described as an insurance, processing or arrangement fee, and the loan is never paid out; some operators also collect identity documents and bank details that can be misused. A genuine lender won't ask for a payment before releasing a loan. The Central Bank publishes the firm's name under section 53 of the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013. Before borrowing, check the Central Bank's register to confirm a lender is authorised, and use only contact details found on that register.
