What happened

The Central Bank of Ireland issued a warning notice on 16 October 2026 about 'We Go Insure', which it lists as an unauthorised insurance intermediary. The notice gives the website https://wegoinsure.ie/, the email addresses admin@wegoinsure.co.uk and emailreplies@wegoinsure.co.uk, and the phone numbers +353 1800 929 241 and 0203 576 6849 as details used by the firm.

The Central Bank says the firm is not authorised to provide insurance intermediary or distribution services in Ireland. The +353 1800 929 241 number also appears in the Central Bank's separate warning, issued the same day, about 'Temp Insure Cover'.

How the scam works

The Central Bank says this unauthorised firm has cloned details of Central Bank authorised firms and has been seeking to pass itself off as connected to legitimate authorised insurance firms. It notes there is no connection between those legitimate firms and the unauthorised firm, so a familiar-looking firm name, registration detail or policy document is no proof that cover is real.

Because the firm is not authorised, anyone who buys insurance or pays premiums through it is not dealing with a regulated intermediary. The Central Bank publishes the firm's name under section 53 of the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013 and advises checking whether a firm is authorised before doing business with it.

Note: the warning does not describe how the firm approached people; this section reflects the Central Bank's notice.
