What happened

On 15 October 2026, Consob announced that it had ordered the blocking of https://k9c3y.fr (Resolution No. 24165 of 14 October 2026) under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR) and Italian Legislative Decree No. 129/2024, to end a violation of Article 59 of MiCAR, which requires authorisation to provide crypto-asset services. The same resolution covered five sites: aswd78.it, cdzg36.it, ezwq66.it, hree25.it and k9c3y.fr.

The order was one of ten website blocks Consob announced on 15 October 2026, bringing the total number of sites it has ordered blocked since July 2019, when it gained that power, to 1,848, of which 240 relate to crypto activities. Internet service providers operating in Italy are taking steps to block access; Consob says that for technical reasons the block may take a few days to take effect.

How the scam works

Consob says savers should check, before investing, that the operator of any website offering investment or crypto-asset services is authorised, and that a prospectus or white paper has been published for any offer of financial products or crypto-assets.

It also warns about the changing ways online fraud is carried out, including emails and 'cloned' websites, fake profiles of politicians and celebrities, and AI-generated images, voices or videos used to persuade people to make harmful investment decisions.

Note: Consob's notice lists the blocking orders; it does not describe how this particular site approached investors. This section reflects Consob's general guidance.
