What happened
On 23 October 2026 Italy's market regulator Consob announced it had ordered Italian internet providers to block 5 websites as part of its action against unauthorised financial activity: 3 sites unlawfully providing investment services and activities in financial instruments and 2 sites unlawfully providing crypto-asset services (the release does not say which sites fall in which group). One of the blocked sites is 'Brelliozo IA' (brelliozoia-it.com). Consob says blocking may take a few days for technical reasons and urges savers to check that any operator is authorised before investing.
What the warning means
Consob has had the power since July 2019 to order Italian internet providers to block websites of unauthorised financial intermediaries, and since MiCAR also sites offering crypto-asset services without authorisation. With this order, the total number of sites it has blocked reaches 1,853, of which 242 relate to crypto-assets. A blocking order is an administrative measure based on Consob's findings that the site was offering services without authorisation; it is not a criminal conviction.
Unauthorised trading sites typically reach people through social media ads, fake news articles with celebrity endorsements and cold calls. They show a professional-looking trading platform with rising balances, push for larger deposits and then block withdrawals or demand fees. Consob notes a rise in cloned emails and websites and fake profiles of public figures used to take money and personal data. It urges savers to check, before investing, that the operator is authorised and that a prospectus or white paper has been published for any financial product or crypto-asset offered. Because blocking can take a few days and operators often move to new addresses, a site may still be reachable for a while.

- Pressure to deposit more, or fees demanded before a withdrawal.
- Separate 'client' or 'webtrader' pages on other domains linked to the same site.
If you were targeted
- 1Don't deposit money or share personal or card details with 'Brelliozo IA' (brelliozoia-it.com) or its related pages.
- 2Check that any investment or crypto-asset provider is authorised, using Consob's website, before investing.
- 3If you have already sent money, contact your bank or payment provider immediately.
- 4Report the matter to the Polizia Postale and to Consob.
- 5Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your money for a fee.
