What happened

Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), published a warning on 6 November 2026 concerning fraudulent activities by persons misusing the name of Finare Asset Management S.A. The CSSF lists the website www.finareassetmanagement.com and the email address support@finareassetmanagement.com as used in the scheme, and describes the conduct as identity theft and illicit activities. No phone number or office address is given in the warning.

How the scam works

The CSSF says unknown persons are impersonating Finare Asset Management S.A., a genuine Luxembourg investment firm, and that the real firm is not related to the fraudulent website. Finare Asset Management S.A. is impersonated and not involved. Clone firm scams like this copy the name and often the registration details of a legitimate, supervised company so that anyone who checks the regulator's register finds a real entry and believes they are dealing with an authorised business.

The website and email address are then used to offer investment services, such as managed portfolios, bonds or trading accounts. Contacts usually begin with an advert, cold call or email, and investors are asked to transfer money to an account controlled by the fraudsters, which does not belong to the genuine firm. Victims may be shown statements or dashboards that suggest strong performance, and further payments or fees may be requested before any withdrawal. Because the real firm has no relationship with the clone, money sent this way is not protected by the firm's supervision.

The CSSF warning is a statement of identity theft by unknown persons and does not suggest any wrongdoing by the genuine Finare Asset Management S.A. Before investing, check the regulator's register and contact the firm only through the details shown there, and compare email domains carefully with the official ones. Anyone who has sent money via finareassetmanagement.com should contact their bank and the police at once, and can inform the CSSF.
