What happened

Luxembourg's financial regulator, the CSSF, warned on October 14, 2026 about a fraud scheme misusing the former name "Arche Associés S.A." of the investment firm CORIENT S.A. The CSSF classes it as identity theft and illicit activities.

The scheme uses the website www.arche-associes-lu.com and gives an alleged registered office at 37 b A, Avenue JF Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. The CSSF says CORIENT S.A. is not related to the fraudulent website. CORIENT was impersonated, not involved.

How the scam works

Using a real firm's former name is a variation on clone-firm fraud: anyone who searches the name finds a genuine, regulated history, which makes the website seem legitimate. A Luxembourg address and a domain containing "-lu" add to the impression.

Note: the CSSF notice does not describe how people were approached; this section describes how such schemes generally work.
