What happened

In a post published October 21, 2026, MalwareTips warns of a Best Buy survey scam that uses the retailer's identity to promote a counterfeit reward page. The reported email invites feedback about store promotions and points to a page advertising a Samsung S26 Ultra or another reward; a documented address is kikane.myridianprizes[.]com. MalwareTips says the page was also described as displaying fabricated reviews, and that Best Buy and Samsung are not established as participants in the scheme. It notes the documented case establishes the fake survey and reward presentation but not a fixed shipping charge, subscription price or completed loss. MalwareTips advises not to enter contact or card details on such prize pages and to check offers through the retailer directly.

How the scam works

MalwareTips says the survey invitation borrows a retailer's identity so that the request feels like routine feedback, and someone who recently shopped at the store may assume the message follows their purchase. The promise of a high-value phone for a short survey then moves the visitor to a prize page on an unrelated domain. Reward pages of this kind often show countdown timers, claims that few prizes are left and comments from 'winners' to create urgency.

MalwareTips says the email pictured in its article is an illustration with a fictional sender. Funnels like this typically ask for contact details and then card details for a small shipping fee, and some sign people up for recurring charges, although MalwareTips says the documented case does not establish a fixed price. Best Buy and Samsung are impersonated, not involved.
