What happened

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) updated its existing warning on Momentum Peak Trade on 2 November 2026 and published a warning that Momentum Peak Trade is providing or promoting financial services or products without its permission. The FCA says the firm is not authorised by it and may be targeting people in the UK, and it urges people to avoid dealing with it and to beware of scams. The updated entry lists a telephone number +447441905299, several email addresses on momentumpeaktrade.cc and momentumpeaktrade.email, plus one on monumentpeaktrade.email, and websites including momentumpeaktrade.io, momentumpeaktrade.com, client.momentumpeaktrade.io, momentumpeaktrade.co and client.momentumpeaktrade.ac. No postal address is given.

How the scam works

The FCA explains what this means for consumers. Almost all firms and individuals must be authorised or registered by the FCA to carry out or promote financial services in the UK. If a person deals with an unauthorised firm, they will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they want to complain, and they will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if things go wrong, which means it is unlikely they would get their money back if the firm goes out of business.

This entry was first published in April 2026 and was changed on 2 November 2026, with new domains and email addresses added. The long list of domains, including a client portal address, shows how a firm of this kind may move between websites. One email address is spelled “monumentpeaktrade”, a near-copy of the firm's name. The FCA stresses that contact details may be incorrect or change over time. The FCA also warns that some firms give incorrect contact details, including postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses, and may change them over time. They may also give details that belong to another business or individual, so that the information looks genuine. The warning does not describe specific victims or how the firm approaches people.

The FCA advises dealing only with firms it authorises, checking them on the FCA Firm Checker and using the contact details listed there, especially if a financial business contacts you unexpectedly. It notes that people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator. Anyone approached by an unauthorised firm can call the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or use its contact form.
