What happened

The UK Financial Conduct Authority updated its warning on Rosenman-Locke Consulting Group LLP on 15 October 2026 (first published 5 October 2026). The FCA says the firm is not authorised and may be providing or promoting financial services without permission and may be targeting people in the UK.

Details listed on the warning include the website http://rosenman-locke.com/, an address at 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, USA 10104, and telephone numbers 18453145120 and +15854761287. The FCA notes that firms may give contact details belonging to other businesses, so the address may not be genuinely theirs.

How the scam works

The FCA says almost all firms and individuals must be authorised or registered by it to carry out or promote financial services in the UK. If you deal with an unauthorised firm you won't have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and you won't be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if things go wrong, so it is unlikely you would get your money back.

Unauthorised firms often use websites and phone numbers that look professional, and may give contact details belonging to another business so that the information looks genuine.

Note: the FCA warning does not describe how this firm approached people; this section reflects the FCA's general guidance.
