What happened

On 29 October 2026 the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warned that fraudsters using the name 'LW Management' are pretending to be a genuine FCA-authorised firm, Links Wealth Management Limited (firm reference number 1011435), to make people believe they are dealing with a real, authorised firm. The FCA lists the clone's contact details as telephone +447441421816, email addresses support@lw-manage.info and support@lw-mgmt.info, and websites lw-manage.info, lw-management.info and lw-mgmt.info, with an address given as 27 Old Broad Street, London EC2N 1HN. The FCA says the genuine firm has no connection with the clone and that the clone firm is not authorised.

How the scam works

A clone firm copies the name, and sometimes the registration details, of a regulated firm so that a check of the FCA register seems to confirm it is genuine. Fraudsters then use their own phone numbers, emails and websites. The FCA warns that scammers may give out other false details, including email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses and firm reference numbers, may mix them with the genuine firm's details and may change them over time. The FCA says that anyone dealing with the clone would have no access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and would not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The FCA's advice is to deal only with authorised firms, to check the firm on the FCA Firm Checker or Financial Services Register, and to contact it only through the details listed there, not the ones given by whoever approached you. The warning page publishes the genuine firm's correct details so that people can compare. It says people who sent money to a fraudster after 7 October 2024 may be covered by the Payment Systems Regulator's reimbursement protections.
