What happened
On 5 November 2026 the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published a warning that Sky Bing Bank, operating through skybingbank.online, may be providing financial services or products in the UK without its authorisation. The FCA says almost all firms and individuals offering, promoting or selling financial services or products in the UK have to be authorised by it, and that this firm is not. The notice lists contact details the firm uses, including phone 01682648101.
How the scam works
The FCA explains that firms acting without its authorisation are operating illegally, and that dealing with an unauthorised firm leaves consumers without the protections available when a regulated firm is involved. It states that if consumers hand money to such a firm they are unlikely to get it back if things go wrong, because the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme do not generally cover unauthorised business, and that payment-services protections may apply to payments made on or after 7 October 2024 in some cases.
The FCA warning concerns UK authorisation only; it does not by itself allege that the firm has defrauded anyone. The regulator's point is that the firm is not on its register and is not permitted to carry on regulated activity in the UK, which strips away the safety net consumers would otherwise have. The FCA advises checking any firm against its Financial Services Register and its Warning List before dealing with it, and notes that fraudsters sometimes copy the details of genuine firms, a tactic known as a clone. Consumers who think they have dealt with this firm can contact the FCA consumer helpline on 0800 111 6768. The warning is published by the FCA; scammers.com has summarised it and not independently verified it.
