What happened
The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) added Forex-gpt.com to its Warning List on 20 October 2026, saying the firm is not authorised or registered by the FCA and may be providing or promoting financial services or products in the UK without permission. The FCA lists the website www.forex-gpt.com, a Facebook page (facebook.com/profile.php?id=61562523293874) and the Instagram account @yourforexstyle as the firm's contact details. The FCA says people dealing with an unauthorised firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection if things go wrong, cautions that unauthorised firms may give incorrect contact details, and advises checking the FCA Firm Checker before dealing with any firm.
What the warning means
The FCA says almost all firms and individuals must be authorised or registered by it to carry out or promote financial services in the UK. A Warning List entry means the FCA believes the firm may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission, and it advises avoiding the firm and being wary of scams.
Anyone who deals with an unauthorised firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they want to complain, and will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if things go wrong, so it is unlikely they would get their money back if the firm goes out of business. The FCA adds that people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by reimbursement protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator.
The FCA also warns that firms on its list may give incorrect contact details, may change them over time, and may use details that belong to another business or individual so that the information looks genuine. In this case the listed contact points are a website and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram, so the approach may come through social media rather than a call or email. The FCA recommends dealing only with authorised firms, using the FCA Firm Checker to confirm that a firm is authorised and has permission for the services it offers, and replying to unexpected contact only through the details listed on the Firm Checker. People who think they have been approached by an unauthorised firm can call the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or use its contact form.
