What happened

Norway's Financial Supervisory Authority, Finanstilsynet, warned investors on October 14, 2026 against trading through the FID TradeTech platform. It has received information that FID TradeTech has contacted Norwegian investors and offered investment services through the website app.fid-tradetech.com.

How the scam works

Finanstilsynet says these trading platforms often present themselves as safe and professional, but are not authorised to provide investment services in Norway and are not supervised by it.

Typical warning signs it lists: platforms showing "live profits", "AI trading" features or fabricated charts without documentation; a "financial adviser" who contacts investors after registration and pressures them into an initial deposit, often at least EUR/USD 250; and withdrawal problems such as demands for extra fees, frozen accounts, unanswered messages and contact persons who disappear.

If you were targeted

  1. 1Don't enter into agreements with, or transfer money to, the platform.
  2. 2Check whether a company is in Finanstilsynet's Registry of Entities before investing.
  3. 3Be critical of investment ads and advice on social media, and don't be rushed.
  4. 4If you've paid, contact your bank and report it to the police.
