What happened
On 27 October 2026 the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) added the website www.rivet-partners.org to its warning list of companies and individuals that may be carrying out activities requiring authorisation without being authorised by FINMA. FINMA gives the address as Schindellegi and says the operator is not entered in the commercial register. It also states that www.rivet-partners.org is not related to Rivet Partners AG, Schindellegi, a genuine company registered in the Swiss Commercial Register (CHE-335.702.305). The registered company is not involved in the website, is not accused of any wrongdoing, and FINMA's warning is about the website only. FINMA does not describe what the website offered.
How the scam works
A listing like this is a warning that a site is using a name that closely resembles that of an established, legitimate firm. The operator of rivet-partners.org borrows the look of a real name and the real town of Schindellegi, while FINMA says it has no connection to the registered company. In investment fraud this is commonly done so that a victim who searches for the firm finds a real company and register number and concludes that the site is genuine.
FINMA's note does not describe what the site offers or how people were approached, so no specific method is claimed here. People who deal with such a site risk paying into an operation that has no licence, no deposit protection and no regulator to complain to. Because the genuine Rivet Partners AG is registered under its own number (CHE-335.702.305), the safest check is to find the firm's own contact details independently, for example through the commercial register, and never rely on details provided by the person who contacted you.
FINMA publishes advice on how to protect yourself and how to report a suspected unauthorised provider on its website.

Red flags
- A website whose name closely resembles a genuine, registered firm's name.
- Contact details or a town that match a real firm but don't match its registered website.
- The firm is absent from FINMA's list of authorised institutions.
- Reliance on a register number or address you were given rather than one you checked.
- An offer of financial services from an operator with no commercial register entry.
If you were targeted
- 1Don't deal with www.rivet-partners.org or send money to it.
- 2Check any provider yourself in the commercial register and on FINMA's lists, and contact the real company using details you looked up, not those provided to you.
- 3Remember that FINMA says the registered Rivet Partners AG is not related to the website; don't treat the real firm as involved.
- 4If you've paid, tell your bank immediately and keep all records.
- 5Report the website to FINMA via its reporting page.
