What happened

On 28 October 2026 the Swiss financial regulator FINMA added a company called Spacexfy to its warning list. FINMA's list covers companies and individuals that may be carrying out activities that need authorisation without having it. FINMA gives the address Schiffbaustrasse 2, 8031 Zürich for the entity and lists the website spacexfy.com. This is the address as listed in the warning; FINMA does not say that anyone at that address is involved.

How the scam works

FINMA's warning-list entries are short. The regulator says a provider is not authorised, or that it has no permission to take deposits or deal in securities in Switzerland, and warns the public to be cautious. It typically does not describe how each operation approaches clients, so the details below describe the common pattern for this kind of warning rather than facts about this company.

Unauthorised investment platforms usually find clients through online adverts, social-media contacts or cold calls. They offer trading in crypto assets, currencies or shares with promises of high returns, show a polished dashboard with growing balances, and encourage small first deposits followed by larger ones. When the customer asks to withdraw money, the platform finds reasons not to pay: tax, fees, or an "account upgrade". Names that suggest a famous space or technology company, or a Swiss address, help to look credible.

For anyone approached by a company like this, FINMA's own database lets you check whether a provider is authorised in Switzerland, and the warning list lets you check whether it is flagged. Absence from the warning list is not proof that a firm is legitimate, because new names appear all the time.

Red flags

  • A trading or investment platform that is not authorised by FINMA.
  • Promised returns that are far above normal market levels.
  • A Swiss-sounding address that you cannot verify on the official register.
  • Pressure to deposit more money to "unlock" gains or withdrawals.
  • Contact started through an ad, social-media message or cold call.

If you were targeted

  1. 1Check any provider against FINMA's list of authorised institutions and its warning list before sending money.
  2. 2Do not send further money to a platform that blocks withdrawals or asks for fees to release funds.
  3. 3Keep all records, screenshots and payment receipts.
  4. 4Report a loss to the police and to your bank, and tell FINMA.
  5. 5Be wary of "recovery" services that contact you afterwards; they are often a second scam.
