What happened
RIA Novosti reported on 1 November 2026 that the Russian company JSC GLONASS (АО «ГЛОНАСС») has found a phishing website, aeroglonass.ru, that imitates the official service for connecting unmanned aircraft (drones) to the state information system ERA-GLONASS. The company said the information on the site, which imitates registration through the Gosuslugi public-services portal, has nothing to do with it. According to the company, connecting drones to the system is done only through its official site, nebo.aoglonass.ru. That genuine site is not involved in the scam.
How the scam works
The report says the site is built to look like the drone-registration process required under a Russian government decree. A visitor who believes they must register a drone is led to a page that imitates registration through Gosuslugi, the state portal that many Russians use for official services. JSC GLONASS says people should not follow links to aeroglonass.ru or enter on it their Gosuslugi account details, bank card details, passport data, codes from SMS messages or information about their drones.
A Gosuslugi login is especially valuable to criminals because it is tied to identity documents and many services. With a stolen login and an SMS code, an attacker can take over the account, apply for services in the victim's name or try the same details elsewhere. Card and passport data can be used for payments and for identity fraud. Because the page is aimed at drone owners, it relies on a legal obligation, which makes the instruction to register feel official and urgent.
The company advises anyone who suspects a leak to change their Gosuslugi password at once, check active sessions and turn on two-factor authentication. It says it has passed information about the site to the supervisory authorities, and that questions can be taken to its official support.
