What happened
On 15 October 2026 the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong added 'Ace Fortune', 'AI Trading Academy' and 'Ace Fortune Research Institute' to its Alert List as unlicensed entities. The SFC lists the websites ace-fortune.com, aitrading.academy, quant-hunter.ace-fortune.com, aitrading.ace-fortune.com, courses.aitrading.academy and ai-cad-webinar.ace-fortune.com, and addresses in Tsim Sha Tsui and Kwun Tong, Kowloon. The SFC states the entities are not licensed by or registered with it for any regulated activity under the Securities and Futures Ordinance and are not permitted to carry on regulated activity in Hong Kong or actively market such services to the Hong Kong public. The SFC notes that unlicensed entities often use names similar to legitimate companies, and advises investors to deal only with licensed entities and to check its public register.
How the scam works
The SFC Alert List names entities that the SFC believes are not licensed in Hong Kong and are targeting Hong Kong investors or claim a Hong Kong connection. The SFC notes that unlicensed entities often use names similar to legitimate companies to confuse investors.
Names like 'AI Trading Academy', course pages and webinar registration links (such as ai-cad-webinar.ace-fortune.com) are typical of schemes that use free training or AI trading tools to draw people in before pitching investment services.
Note: the SFC entry does not describe how these entities approached investors; this section describes the general pattern.
