What happened

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) added Rich Corporation Limited, with the website https://richcorporationhk.com, to its alert list of suspicious entities on 3 November 2026. The SFC classifies it as an unlicensed entity and says in its remarks that the entity falsely claims to be an SFC-licensed corporation. The entry lists no address.

How the scam works

The SFC entry records only the name, the website and the remark that Rich Corporation Limited falsely claims to be an SFC-licensed corporation. It does not say what services are advertised, how customers are reached or whether anyone has lost money. The SFC's general note on the page says unlicensed entities often use names similar to legitimate companies to confuse investors, and that some of them appear to target Hong Kong investors by offering online trading platforms. It adds that people who deal with a company that is not licensed by the SFC may not be protected by the regulatory framework it enforces.

A name such as Rich Corporation Limited sounds like an ordinary Hong Kong company, and the domain includes the letters hk. That helps a site to look local and registered. A false claim of an SFC licence is one of the signals used to make such a site credible before a victim sends money. The SFC says that claim is false here. Its entry is a warning about licensing and it does not say the operators have been charged or that deposits were taken.

The SFC's advice is to deal only with licensed entities and to hang up on cold callers. Anyone can check whether a firm is licensed on the SFC's Public Register of Licensed Persons and Registered Institutions. A licence number quoted on a website should be searched there, not accepted at face value.
