What happened
Mimikama warned in its WarnRadar on 2 November 2026 about a message pretending to be an official offer from the Swiss health insurer CSS. The text reads: “Ab September 2026 bietet CSS Zahnversicherung für Menschen ab 50 Jahren an. Das sollte jeder Senior wissen” (From September 2026, CSS is offering dental insurance for people aged 50 and over; every senior should know this). Underneath are four boxes for people born in 1967–1976, 1957–1966, 1947–1956 and 1937–1946, each with a “Details ansehen” (view details) link. According to Mimikama, the links lead to kredit.sc. CSS is not involved.
How the scam works
Mimikama says the sender's name is used to create trust and that the message is meant to lead the reader to click the linked details. The organisation lists several warning signs. The phrase “Das sollte jeder Senior wissen” builds artificial pressure, the many highlighted “view details” links invite clicks, the division by birth year looks like a personalised offer, the exact start date “from September 2026” makes the message seem credible, and the red emphasis on “50” draws attention to the age limit.
Mimikama does not say what the kredit.sc page asks for. Its warning is that such advertising can lead to unreliable pages or to requests for data. Ads that target older people with an insurance benefit are a typical way to collect names, birth dates, phone numbers and health details for later calls, fake quotes or fraud, and a link to a page outside the insurer's own domain is the main warning sign.
Its advice is to avoid clicking on the details if you cannot check the advert safely, to visit the official CSS website at css.ch or its app yourself, to enter no personal data until the offer has been confirmed through official channels, to compare such notices with the real CSS site, and to report suspicious messages that use the insurer's name.
