What happened
On 28 October 2026 the official VyFinance account on X warned users of a fraud website at vyfi.site that pretends to be the VyFinance platform. VyFinance is a decentralised finance project built on the Cardano blockchain. The team's warning says the genuine app is at app.vyfi.io and tells users not to connect their wallets to the look-alike address. A user also reported on 27 October that the fake site was appearing in search results under the title "VYFI Reward Event", although we have not verified that claim. VyFinance is the project being imitated and is not accused.
How the scam works
This is a standard crypto "fake site" scam. The imitation site copies the name, look and wording of a real DeFi platform and uses a similar-looking address. It may be promoted through search ads, replies on social media or messages offering a "reward event" or "airdrop". When a visitor connects a wallet and approves a transaction, or types in a recovery phrase, the attackers can drain tokens and NFTs. Unlike a bank account, a blockchain transfer cannot be reversed.
A lookalike domain such as .site instead of the project's real address is the easiest way to spot this. Bookmarks help: save the official app address from the project's own pinned posts and use that bookmark instead of searching each time. A real project will never ask for your seed phrase or private key, and rewards that need a wallet connection to a new address are a warning sign.

Red flags
- A site at vyfi.site instead of the project's real app address (app.vyfi.io).
- A "reward event" or similar promotion that asks you to connect your wallet.
- Search results or ads that lead to an address you did not bookmark.
- Requests to sign transactions you do not understand.
- Any request for your recovery phrase or private key.
If you were targeted
- 1Use only the app address published in VyFinance's official channels, and bookmark it.
- 2Never type your seed phrase into a website; no genuine project asks for it.
- 3Do not connect your wallet to sites reached from ads, replies or direct messages.
- 4If you connected or signed something, revoke token approvals with a trusted tool and move funds to a new wallet.
- 5Report the site to the project and to the domain registrar or browser safe-browsing service.
