What happened

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) added Global Pip Markets to its Warning List on 2 November 2026 and published a warning that Global Pip Markets is providing or promoting financial services or products without its permission. The FCA says the firm is not authorised by it and may be targeting people in the UK, and it urges people to avoid dealing with it and to beware of scams. The FCA lists the firm's address as 11 Grace Avenue, STE 108, Great Neck, New York, USA, 11021, a telephone number 7027064466, the email contact@globalpipmarkets.com and the website globalpipmarkets.com.

How the scam works

The FCA explains what this means for consumers. Almost all firms and individuals must be authorised or registered by the FCA to carry out or promote financial services in the UK. If a person deals with an unauthorised firm, they will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they want to complain, and they will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if things go wrong, which means it is unlikely they would get their money back if the firm goes out of business.

The listing gives a New York address even though the FCA says the firm may be targeting people in the UK. The FCA stresses that such details may be incorrect, so they do not show where the firm really operates. The FCA also warns that some firms give incorrect contact details, including postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses, and may change them over time. They may also give details that belong to another business or individual, so that the information looks genuine. The warning does not describe specific victims or how the firm approaches people.

The FCA advises dealing only with firms it authorises, checking them on the FCA Firm Checker and using the contact details listed there, especially if a financial business contacts you unexpectedly. It notes that people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator. Anyone approached by an unauthorised firm can call the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or use its contact form.
